National Level Sustainable Handmade Menstrual Pad Making Competition

With an objective to make Menstrual commodities normal, accessible, and comfortable, in particular, helping our environment with better menstrual waste management, O' Meraki Foundation is organizing this national-level sustainable handmade menstrual pad-making competition. The guidelines to be followed while evaluating the submitted prototypes are:

  1. The pad should be handmade using readily available material.
  2. The pad should be of Length: 260mm to 300mm and Width: 60mm–75mm.
  3. The pad should easily and quickly absorb colored water (similar to blood) when poured on the center of the pad.
  4. No stain or leakage should show up at the bottom or sides of the pad after absorption.
  5. The pad should be suitable, comfortable, and portable.
  6. The pad should be durable when used repeatedly.
  7. The total cost of all used materials and making should be as low as possible.
  8. Above all the points, creativity will be highly appreciated in the evaluation process.
Prizes and Certificates for Top 10 Winners

Winners of the competitions will be announced on the website. Details regarding prizes and certificates are mentioned below.

  • 1st Prize Gift Worth Rs. 5000/- with certificate.
  • 2nd Prize Gift Worth Rs. 3000/- with certificate.
  • The next 8 position holders will receive only certificates.
How to participate?

Step 1: Register for the competition

To participate in the competition, one must register by submitting contact details via Google Form (Click Here) on or before August 15th, 2022. Only one person should register against each prototype submission irrespective of single or group participation. No charges apply for online registration and participation in the competition.

Step 2: Send the prototype via post

After completing the online registration, the participant must send the prototype to the following postal address via any speed or registered post. Participants must write the registered Full Name, Phone Number, and the List of Materials Used on a piece of paper and put it inside an envelope along with the prototype. The prototype submission (via post) must reach the following address on or before September 12th, 2022. The address is:
